"IMAGINE IF WE ALL
PLAYED BY THE SAME SET OF RULES" How much better off are we today, now that Governor Mitt Romney released
his tax returns. Great isn't it? Personally, I don't feel any different, and I can't think of one thing that has
changed, in my life, for the better or worse, by his disclosure. Over a couple of years, Romney made $42 million
in investments and pay over $6 million in taxes--I DIDN'T. Quite frankly, as far as pouring over his returns;
that's a bit much for me to understand, out of my league--period. Heck, I'll bet some of those speedy
tax chains would have trouble trying to comprehend his return. And for comparison's sake, well, my
income's a bit short of those numbers. How short, you ask?
Here's the
short answer: I don't have to tell you. Haven't you heard of my ''right
to privacy?
I am willing to bet that the majority of you agree with me on, at
least, these two items. I believe in a smaller government and I also want that government to stay out of my
personal affairs. Those that disagree, you're excused. You needn't read any further.
With
that said, then, why do so many of us insist that others disclose, to us, that which we feel is private and we won't disclose?
It seems as though we have two sets of rules by which we want to play. Come to think of it, politicians
also seem to have two sets of rules by which they play. Imagine if we all had just one set of rules among all
of us. Naw, we wouldn't want that; would we? After all, who decides what the rules
will be. And, more importantly, how would we make sure
they favor you and me----well---at least me.
Okay, for those of you that just have to know more about
Governor Romney's tax return, here it is: Romney releases returns (Forget it--You're still not getting mine.)
| Sarah McKinley and Her Baby |

|
| The parent, calmly and politely, asked if she could shoot the intruder. |
January

"WAS OKLAHOMA TEEN MOM A "HERO"
OR.....? Sarah McKinley, an 18 year old widow of ten days and the mother of a 3 month old baby, stood guard, inside
her home as two men tried to break down the door. She had placed a call to 911, but due to the remote area she lived
in, law enforcement, while on their way, were more than a few minutes away.
As she waited for the police, she armed herself with a shotgun and a pistol.
She asked the 911 operator if she could shoot the intruders if they entered her home. She stayed calm and communicated
with the dispatcher, on the line, to the very end. When they broke into the home, she declared that she was
about to shoot one of them and she did. He died and the other intruder ran away.
She said she feels bad, but that she has no regrets. "I felt
like what I did was the best decision for my son and I. Obviously when someone breaks into your house with a deadly weapon,
they're not here for anything good. But I am very sorry and it's not something I ever wanted to do."
The county attorney said he
would not prosecute this woman. She was within her right to protect her baby and herself. (From MSOL--AMEN!)
We are forever pointing
out on Main Street Out Loud that our youth need good examples and that parents need to make sure they set those examples,
not by words, but by their actions. We also agree that community, state and national leaders, as well as corporate heads
are an influence, good or bad, truthfully or hypocritically in the development of how our youth will one day take over as
business heads, civic, social and congressional leaders.
So often parents wonder if their children are ever listening, if they hear what they are being
told. Instead of wondering if they are listening, parents should be more concerned as to what these young minds
are seeing. To use a couple of adages: Actions speak louder than words and a picture is worth a thousand words.
These may be cliches, but they are on the mark.
So much has been made about how this teenage mother, whose husband died on Christmas Day after
his battle with cancer, how she lived in a remote area, that she and her three month old child were on their own and that
she called for help.
While
all of those points are true, I would like to think that there is more to this than what has been reported. I wouldn't
paint her with the broad brush of "teenager", nor would I necessarily label her as a "hero". But,
I would offer that this lady, this woman, this mother, this widow is definitely an example of hope. Yes, hope.
In the
case of Mrs. Sarah McKinley, I would like to think that an adult or a few adults brought this woman up to understand right
and wrong, being responsible and taking proper and lawful actions when a situation warrants.
Mrs. McKinley, is not a teenage girl,
widowed and now raising a child on her own. While those may be conditions in her life, they are not who she is.
Mrs. Sarah McKinley is an adult
that, through her calm and decisive manner, accepted her role as an adult and a mother, stood courageous, though alone and
accepted her responsibility as a parent.
Mrs. McKinley is an example for the youth of this nation. Pure and simple: She is a lesson, in
time, in maturing, when accepting responsibility is part of the process. With Sarah as her mother, this child
has a head start in this world. Sarah wears the title well---maybe "hero"---but more correctly "PARENT".

"IF YOU THREW A PARTY AND ONLY ONE
OUT OF FOUR GUESTS SHOWED UP--WOULD YOU BE HAPPY?" Preface: The following comments, regarding a recent political election
and a newspaper article about the results, have nothing to do with my preference of one candidate over another.
I did not have a vote in this election since it was outside of my district. I did follow the debates
and the candidates' views, but I did not endorse nor openly support one candidate over the other.
I bring this political contest up for two significant reasons. One deals with the elation over voter turnout, that I
want to focus on. The other deals with the way the candidate ran his campaign.
First, let's look at
the headlines and the declarations made about the election of the next mayor of Phoenix, Arizona. The headline
read: "Phoenix voter turnout sets city-election record".
As I then looked at the article, I read on the first line: "The
2011 Phoenix election will go down in city history for record-breaking voter turnout". And, in the third paragraph, I read: "..smashing
the 1983 record for most ballots cast in an election by about 18,000 votes,.."
Surely,
anyone reading this article at this point, has to be thinking that the people of Phoenix have taken a strong interest in their
government and have moved in the direction of voter involvement. After all, look again at the previous
paragraph as to what was written--it says it all. What else could these words mean? (click here to read more or go to "Essays Page")

"CAMPAIGN MONIES FLOW--DEBTS CONTINUE TO GROW" On Oct. 24, 2011, President
Barrack Obama spoke at the Spanish-style mansion of actors Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith, where about 200 supporters
paid at least $5,000 each.
At a private residence, someone's home, a small group of people dropped over $1,000,000.00
in the hat. During times that the president is trying to get middle America to pay for a jobs bill that
will set us back nearly 500 billion dollars, during a time when the president is hard at it to get a program off the ground
that will aid families that are underwater and possibly ready to lose their homes---where is this world in which some live
and who are these people?
Are these people on the other side of the universe, in some pocket that keeps them immune to the problems
of the world? No, these people are gathering in a private home for a party with a small group of friends, less
people than it would take to fill one-half of the new Boeing 747-400. Yet, this small group of people gathered
together and easily gave over a MILLION DOLLARS to feed the campaign coffers of their candidate and surely, now their friend.
Their good friend, the president, the same man that wants to raise taxes on the rich in order to pay for programs that
aid the less fortunate.
The irony is that some of these people may not have even had dinner, yet they came and they willingly gave.
And to top it off, they might not have even been friends, contrary to my former suggestion. They might not even have
liked some of the people with whom they were hobnobbing . Yet, the cash flowed freely and I would venture
to say, without a real concern about the economy (outside of Wall Street), the jobless rate, the housing foreclosure issues
or the exodus within the industrial belt as vacant building after vacant building is being boarded up.
Do you wonder
what the president will do with that easily gathered million? Do you think he will spend it on himself
and his agenda to stay president or will he use it to save about 600 families from foreclosure? Or,
what about funding an entire year's payroll for about 30 workers that need jobs?
I'm taking bets on this one---that it's
not going to the soon-homeless-families or to relief some of the millions of unemployed workers. After
all, that's a problem for you and me---the taxpayers. This is campaign money, this is "political
campaign money", yes, this is "DONATE lots to ME so I can keep MY job".
The
most amazing part about campaign funds is that they are never ending, creating treasure troves of millions and in
some cases, billions of dollars, month after month, year after year---for people that walk among us during
appointed times, they speak of promises for a better tomorrow, they shake hands, smile and have photos taken while running
for office and then become unapproachable while in office--until it's time to run again. And each campaign echoes
the words of the last one and the one before and the one before.
This type of scenario, filling the campaign coffers of the politicians
with such an abundance that the end figures are staggeringly vulgar, while the politician speaks about the economic crisis,
the jobless rate and other woes, brings to my mind a vision of a huge elephant sitting in the middle of the room. ELEPHANT: Something
that just can't be ignored---and in this case, that something would be a hypocrite.
So, let's see if we can give some clarity to
the word. Class, sit up straight and "PAY" attention.
Spelling:
H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E
Definition: 1.
A politician, in office, blaming others for things he/she voted into law. 2.
A politician, in office, blaming all of the woes of this nation on the
failures of the opposing party to understand the 'real; issues.
3. All politicians,
in office, that talk about how much they care about their constituents, while
they promote personal agendas as they themselves live lives of entitlement and privilege.
CLASS DISMISSED: Those of you that are so
poor that it was difficult to even "PAY" attention---please study carefully, there is an election coming.
You, and millions just like you, will decide the fate of this nation and your family. *Note: This article is a slightly altered version of our commentary,

"EMPTY PROMISES"
At the Republican National Convention in 1988, George
H.W. Bush, uttered these words: "Read my lips, no new taxes". We
are well aware as to why that statement echoes loud and clear every time we look back on campaign promises that go unfulfilled.
In the current campaign, we are hearing the same promises made for more than a generation regarding border security,
taxes, the economy, production on American shores and many more. Maybe these promises should be met with:
Read my lips--No new campaign promises that you won't keep, that you can't keep and/or that you have no
clue on how to make them happen. Read MY lips: Stop the empty promises.
Ronald Reagan, during his inaugural
address in 1981: "In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government
is the problem".
Most of us would agree with that statement, but do we understand the identity of "the government".
When we think of government, we don't think of you and me, we think of Washington and all those people that occupy
the House, the Senate and the White House. We don't think about the bosses that put the people into
office. The true government is you and it's me. It is the American People.
America, a land where the government is OF the people, BY the people and FOR
the people. READ MORE

(LABOR DAY)
"VACATION TIME IS ENDING--FINGER POINTING TO START UP 'AGAIN'" TODAY (9/5/11): THE PRESIDENT
SAID: "The time for Washington games is over. The time for action is now. No more manufactured crises, no more games.
Now is not the time for the people you sent to Washington to worry about their jobs, now is the time for them to worry about
your jobs." Here's the problem with what he had to say: FIRST--Congress is still on their 5 week vacation. Why
is it now so important for action, what about the last 5 weeks of unemployment, dead economy, tight credit
lines, lack of faith in political system, distrust of politicians and rising costs for groceries, fuel and other consumer essentials?
So, TODAY, this day, it just isn't going to be a good day for action---we have to wait
for everyone to come back in from playtime and take their seats. With all the traveling, the getting situated and then
the TV and radio interviews, the arguing about which party did what, who did what to whom and other displays of boorish behavior--it
will be another week before Congress is ready to settle in. And when that happens, the real finger pointing will start. SECOND--How can the President say this is no time
to worry about their jobs when he's out on the campaign trail? By now, some us are beginning to understand that
hypocrisy might be the biggest problem we have in government. Can you imagine how much time we would have to address
real issues and study remedies if these grown men and women didn't spend so much time trying to influence
us with the childish 'he did, she said, they won't, we will, if I can't play, then I'm taking my
ball and going home' and other such nonsense. Imagine a session without time wasted on all
the finger pointing. Of course, with this crew, that is a far cry from becoming a reality. So--what have we here? Politics as usual and everyone
trying to get jockey for position. Difference being that the President has the bigger pulpit. Other than that, anything that
is said or done will all be about the upcoming campaign and trying to do just that---save THEIR jobs. How much longer will we tolerate this farce?
How long can we survive, without taking positive steps to end this crisis that has gripped this nation
for far too long? As
for the American people, well let's face it--we got what we voted for--hope and change. We hope we can
survive until the next election. We hope we will have better representation, we hope we will have more capable leadership,
we hope we have reason to hope that things will change.

"WE HAVE SEEN THE ENEMY, AND IT IS US"
During a discussion, a FB friend (Nancy H.) posted the following (exact copy): "With 14 TRILLION
dollars of debt, NO ONE in this country should be hitchhiking, hungry, or homeless. Heck with 14 TRILLION we could have cured
cancer and autism. Where did ALL the money go?????? It does NOT seem to be in America, despite the fact that Americans got
to pay the debt." I agreed. She made an excellent point. I looked
at that figure, 14 TRILLION DOLLARS, and wrote it out in my mind---even more staggering when envisioned.
Although it took awhile to spend us into such debt, we are going at a record pace today and there seems no
end to increased poverty and continuing hunger. Where is this money going? There is
NO BUDGET, there is NO FULL DISCLOSURE. According to the increasing debt, the only thing I find TRANSPARENTLY
CLEAR is: No one should be hungry in this country. Unfortunately, a huge portion the money hasn't been spent here, has it.
It has gone to impoverished
nations that are still impoverished, to aid some relief efforts around the globe that are still requiring relief, to rid lands
of regimes bent on enslaving the people within boundaries that are still controlled by other regimes or terrorist groups.
Unfortunately,
a huge portion of the money hasn't been spent on these issues either.
It has gone to line the overflowing
pockets of power players throughout the world, including those that are our sworn enemies. The money has gone to increase
the holdings and bottom lines of banks, of big business, government contracts and, as a side benefit, to increase the net
wealth of scores and scores and scores of congressional members. And add to this the waste and untold benefactors of graft
and corruption. And yes, I include the waste of countless vacations by the Administration and Congress during a time
of severe crisis in America. Unfortunately, a huge portion of the money HAS been spent on these agendas. But, unfortunately, a large portion of the money hasn't been spent on this nation's military men and
women, this nation's unemployment, its job creation issues, this nation's declining state of affairs, this
nation's forlorn or this nation's research to find cures for diseases. Isn't it past time to sit back and hope for the best? Instead of posting on social
networks, how many write their representatives, how many call the leaders of the Senate, the House or even the White House?
How many give to charities within their community instead of to some government sponsored program? How
many give directly to someone, to a family in need, instead of to some political slickster running for (re)election? "We have seen the enemy, and it is us". We haven't been too diligent
in selecting leadership. We haven't been too quick to respond to righting the wrongs, though they
are blatantly displayed before us. Let's face it, we just haven't been too willing to be involved. Can we
afford to continue to ignore the wake up calls. The next one might be suppressed by those that want us to sit
back and amuse ourselves with false hope.
It seems that one of Ghandi's quotes is cited
quite often these days: "Be the change you want to see in the world."
Maybe, before further hardship or calamity befalls us--we'll (you and I) actually be the change we want to see in the
world. I am also reminded of another quote: "Actions speak louder than words."
IMAGINE:
320,000,000 AMERICANS FOCUSED on electing leaders according to character & ability. IMAGINE:
320,000,000 AMERICANS FOCUSED on righting the wrongs, for the common good of all. IMAGINE: 320,000,000
AMERICANS INFORMED AND INVOLVED! "Oh beautiful, for spacious..."
| Results of a SUPER COMMITTEE |

|
| A voluminous bill containing wasteful spending of agendas cleverly buried in pages no one read |
AUGUST
11, 2011
SUPER COMMITTEE OR DEJA VU? The "SUPER
COMMITTEE" is being defined by each appointment, from all sides of the aisle. It looks like the "super"
part will be those that are permanently entrenched in the game of politics, the super politicians that have sat in Congress
for term after term and now make up the senior class. These politicians that continuously pass bills that are thousands
upon thousands of pages long, allocate the spending of mega amounts of taxpayer monies and have no fail safe audits
to prevent graft, corruption and wasteful spending. Generally, the only things that turn out 'SUPER' are
the amount of pages, the amount of waste, the amount of added wealth to a select few and the future tax that will be imposed
on the American worker. As these
members are heralded as the newly crowned deliverers of the realm, they will suggest and argue for their friends
to join them on the committee. And when it is all said and done, there may even be the token dissenting one
or possibly even two, just to make it appear that change is coming and therefore, a cause for hope. But, before we
throw the confetti and sing "Happy Days Are Here Again", take note of who's selecting and who's
serving. If a coat of paint is applied to a broken down, rotten fence, you get a broken down, rotten
fence that looks good, at first glance, from a distance. Just don't get close enough to lean on it; it won't
support you. Members
of this group may seek to make statements to the media, suggesting that this is now the time for reason and that respect
for differing opinions and harmony will be the rule. As long as party politics are in play
and they are (that's how they get appointed to the committees), the give and take, the tit for tat, the favor for a favor
will be the norm. We'll be inundated with media reports covering it all, from egos, arguments, increased spending,
exemptions for the privileged, agendas, deals, favors, lobbyist influences, etc. OR, to state it in simpler form: Politics
as usual. When you put the same politicians
in charge that have been in charge for years, what else can you expect. The definition of "insanity" comes
to mind on this deal. Doing the same thing, with the same people and expecting a different outcome---INSANITY. How self-centered and self-important does the Congress have to be
to strut this in front of the American people, as a solution to an ever growing crisis that has grown under the tutelage of
those now named to shape the committee that will be in charge to "fix" things. . And when this plays out and the results leave us with another broken
down, rotting fence---who will be painted with the broad stroke of a blaming brush this time?

EXCUSE ME, I WAS WONDERING: "WHY IS CONGRESS
ON VACATION?" As the arbitrary deadline drew nearer, congressional leaders argued over tax cuts, tax increases, spending cuts, spending
increases. Congressional leaders warned of a looming doom, if debt limits weren't raised so that America
could meet its financial obligations. The message was presented over and over: Increased
limits and authorized added borrowing was the direction needed or America could default and her creditworthiness would be
in jeopardy. Many interviews were given by politicians on all sides, numerous secret, closed door meetings
were held, but there was little of substance offered. In the end, the debt limit was raised immediately,
spending cuts were held off for the near and distant future. This is what
America wound up with? We are to accept a broken system that added more pieces that would contribute to
the malfunctioning, out-of-control spending of a government that is much too big and much too controlling? The
waste continues, the debt increases, the nation moves in the wrong direction. After weeks of orchestrated
media exposure to the dog and pony shows, American taxpayers wind up deeper in debt and, to date, there isn't a program
that has been successful at the grass root levels of Main Street America.
The same problems exist, in the same or greater proportions:
Unemployment, a lack of manufacturing on America soil, a sluggish economy, a near-closed credit market, a
foreclosure debacle of epic levels and a list of other items that seems to just go on and on.
Now after
the hype, over this issue, had ended, surely the nation's leaders would take up the real issues for most Americans:
Jobs, manufacturing on native soil and boosting the economy within the nation. There was also the
immediate issue of over 4,000 FAA employees now out of work, as well as thousands more that relied on the airline industry,
and tax revenues, running into the billions, were being lost. Congress needed to weigh in and address
this issue. Many other issues sat as additional agendas to be moved upon. The
nation needed their representatives to deal with matters that concerned all of Main Street. And this Congress
needed to get it together before the ego and in fighting completely stalled this process of government, the government
that was formed of, by and for the people, to benefit the common good of all Americans. Instead, without
further ado, the business of the nation would be laid aside for more than a month.
The members of Congress decided they deserved to
go on ANOTHER PAID VACATION. (click to read more)

CONGRESSIONAL LEADERS HEAD HOME TO SOLIDIFY THE FIX America was nearing
the end of its borrowed money. Congress couldn't agree on where or how they could get the right to borrow more.
The almighty clock was ticking---the clock that ticked away the days, the hours and the seconds until they had to work on
the most important deal of their lifes---campaigning for the next election.
So, at the last minute, a deal was concluded.
America would not run out of borrowed money, we would borrow more and continue on the path of politics as usual--borrowing
and runaway spending, runaway spending and deeper debt, indebtedness nearing the edge of the abyss-of-no-return.
And Congress packed it up, left Washington in the rear view mirrors of the limousines and private cars that ferried them
to airports and private planes that would take them home---to their beloved homelands, the land of favors, fund raising, political
party promises, privileged agendas and ever increasing personal wealth.
They left Washington and the janitors (the working class) were now left to
clean up the mess that they have left behind.
Yes, with the guarantee that they had set the nation up to float on borrowed funds, funds
that would benefit them also, they were satisfied with their efforts. They could go on another paid vacation. They
knew they had lots of newly tapped funds with which to play. Home they went, to assure their power backers,
that, if re-elected, that money would see its way to private agenda deals that the powerful want done.
After it is all said and done, the deal went the way it was always intended
to go. The drama was just a smoke screen. The real power never doubted the outcome and those on the inside, knew
their assignments and played them out as instructed.
Congress went home to let those that fund their campaigns know that the fix is in.
And the world continues to spin, maybe a bit less carefree, but it continues to spin. And Americans go on about
their lives--This deal is done. Or is it?
In this age of American politics, it is what goes on when Congress is not in session that scares and sickens many
of us, even more so than when Congress is session. Private agendas laid out, future
deals agreed to, funds promised and votes assured--these are the workings of a political machine that is a disgrace to this
nation's FOUNDING FATHERS, ITS FLAG, ITS MOTTO, ITS FREEDOM. This is a government no
longer of, by or for the people--it is a powerful political machine that is a disgrace to the name--AMERICA and the good people
of the REPUBLIC.

POLITICIANS AND DRAMA QUEEENS Could
American Politicians be any more artificial than they already are? So much ado about nothing. Sure, there is a
lot at stake and much that needs to be done. But they aren't doing it, they are too busy positioning themselves for
the next election. And that, we can only pray, is much ado about nothing.
As if we didn't know the debt limit would be raised, please. As if we didn't know it would come
down to the wire and no one would have time to read, debate or offer alternatives to the last-minute-bill submitted--GET REAL.
As if we didn't know that as soon as the bill is signed by the President, the spending will go merrily into overdrive--all
the way to the next debt ceiling limit. And, out of the added spending will come more another batch of millionaires
and even a few billionaires. Matter of fact, some in Congress today, though they now have very limited wealth, will
surely be added to that list.
We spelled it out in plain English on the air, this past Saturday. Replay our
broadcast of July 30 (HR 2). And then tell Washington to stop their farcical attempt at all of this drama. So
much drama, but absolutely not a bit of substance.
Want drama? Think about the
greater debt, the depths to which we have sunk. Want drama? Think about how we are supposed to pay
this debt. What are we doing to promote job growth in America? The job market, in this country,
is in such a precarious position and our economy is moving at such a slow pace that even snails are lapping it. Want REAL DRAMA---think what
it will be like if we have this Congress, this President for another four years. All this bickering and dog
and pony show is about how it will play in the upcoming campaign, for these people that will run for re-election. Now---that's
not just drama---and that's definitely not comedy----that's a real tragedy. You should
be shuddering at the thought of such a nightmare. Advice to Washington politicians: Leave the drama to daytime TV.
How about spending your time doing what you swore to do; specifically to uphold, support and defend the Constitution of the
United States of America. And that would include seeing to the well being, the safety and security of America and its
people. And to make it really clear for you, that would include FOCUSING on: JOB
CREATION PROMOTING MANUFACTURING ON AMERICAN SOIL SUPPORTING OUR MILITARY COMPLETELY TO GET THINGS DONE AND BRING
THEM HOME SECURING THE BORDERS OF THIS NATION ENDING CORRUPTION, GRAFT AND WASTE IN GOVERNMENT SPENDING-------and
it would include SERVING THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ACCORDING TO THEIR WILL

Democrats and Republicans, the President, his advisors, the Treasurer, the Federal Reserve Chairman and all
the other individuals that make up the brain trust on the hill---need to get back to reality. This crisis
about the debt ceiling isn't that difficult to get a handle on. We don't need this dog and pony

"Is it Resonable to Doubt?"
From the outset of the verdict,
the area around the courthouse in Florida became a hot bed for dissention, disenchantment, demonstrations and even resentment
by people that had no connection to the events or circumstances that had transpired three years earlier or, for that matter,
those in the last few months. It made me wonder about them, the system and more, much more....
Why are so many people absolutely livid over the verdict in the Casey Anthony case? They
aren't part of the family, they aren't family friends, they weren't called to the stand to testify, they weren't
on the jury, they weren't part
of the prosecution team or the defense, for that matter, and they weren't even in the courtroom. But, they are livid, sad, overcome with emotion
and/or full of vengeance because they "know" she is guilty. Based on what?
Some people demonstrated and shouted outside the courthouse.
People lined up to do on-camera interviews in which they gave heated comments and even threatened to make sure Casey
paid for the rest of her life. Who are these people? How does the world view our judicial
system when it witnesses the reactions of individuals, in circumstances such as these?
So many people carried signs and shouted that they wanted justice for Caylee Anthony. They
also said they would not rest until they knew Caylee's murderer was punished. How do these people know
that this little girl was killed? How do these people know who killed her? The police
thought they knew, arrested a suspect, the prosecution brought a case forward and the end result was that a dozen peers of
the accused found her "not guilty", according to the verdicts read on the count of murder, manslaughter, accomplice
or involvement. (read more)

A Perfect Example of a Lying Hypocrite
Harold Camping, the person that predicted the world would end on May 21st, has now said it will end in October. Who
really believes him and what sort of person would continue to give all they own to this man is not the question to which we need answers.
HERE IS THE QUESTION: If this man truly believed the world was to end on May 21st, why did he retain
his assets in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Doesn't the Bible teach us to do good deeds and to help our fellow
man? Why didn't he close up shop and spend his last days doing good? Why did he spend it giving interviews about
how he knew and why his predictions didn't come true in times past?
And why didn't his
followers do the same? Oh wait, they did! They were the ones that gave him his worldly wealth.
When do people get a clue and start questioning the words they hear when asked to give all and follow a mere mortal.
This man isn't a god of some sort and he isn't some "chosen one" that God uses to speak to others.
If God has a message for me, I would think He could easily deliver it to me directly. He doesn't need help--He created
the universe. I think getting my attention wouldn't be much of a task for God, not at all.
HE says he studies the Bible, he says he believes God's word, then if he isn't a fraud why didn't
he give---before May 21st---all he owned to feed the hungry, shelter and clothe the homeless and preach the word through his
actions? After all, isn't that what the Bible teaches us to do?
Since he missed that
opportunity to be a testimony of God's word, then why doesn't he give it all NOW, without reservation
and without delay; to heal the sick and comfort the forelorn and yes, feed the hungry and shelter the homeless? After
all, if, as he truly believes that the world will end in October, what good will all of his wealth do in the after
life? NOTHING. So--give it to help others---TODAY.
Or is he just panning for more fools to donate to him as he perpetrates this farce on mindless minions that are to
blind to see that he ONLY talks the talk (and even that's doubtful) ----BUT HE DOES NOT
WALK THE WALK.
Give it up, Camping; put into action your
supposed belief in the Bible and its teachings. You either believe it or you are a false prophet. Your
inactions have told us what god you really worship---have you carved out a golden calf?
This con man simply found a way to get rich, at the expense of religion. The Bible even warns us of these type
of people and their lies. Do you ever wonder why God allows these people to thrive at His expense? I
do. I wonder why millions have no food, why people suffer without a roof over their head, and this guy has millions
and lives a life of privilege. Why? And with this latest fanfare: Surely this guy has done his
devil's share to turn some away from knowing the teachings of God.
The Bible
tells us that no one knows the day or the hour, save GOD Himself, alone. And, according to many faiths, all the
gold and silver will not buy you a place in Heaven.

"For America's Sake---Stop Spending Money We Don't Have,
On Things We Don't Need, That Do Nothing To Enhance The Safety or Welfare of Americans in America"
OR Let's Focus on Eliminating Waste---Not on a Wasted Sheen Why do I have this strong conviction that if we cut
just waste---nothing but those programs that do nothing to enhance the way of life for all Americans---we could trim
between 25 and 33 percent of our annual spending? Or, could that portion be even higher?
Parts of this world, that became wealthy and powerful, did so through American aid, trade and through
the blood of American military might that supported these governments in a time of crisis. Today, they help promote economic
woes around the world and surely within our country, by lopsided import/export agreements, by raising commodity prices,
by limiting needed power supplies and by insisting on astronomical benefits for their countries at the expense
of ours. Today, nations sit back, salivating, as we overspend ourselves into such debt that
we will soon be unable to ever repay. If we were in need of aid, would they send grain,
technology, equipment or even forces to help us? Other than Great Britian and possibly Germany,
what other country would you be willing to put your last dollar on? Some of these countries that continue
to increase their position of power in the world and amass even greater wealth, would turn their backs on us
and pick at the carcass if we were not the powerful entity that we are---still, yet.
I believe that if
we were to go over our budget, line by line, and truly understood the end recipient of our monies, you and I would revolt
against ever paying another penny in taxes until the waste and corruption was eliminated. I do not advocate that we
withdraw support of our government, but I do offer that we have let our government go about its business without being
accountable to the "REAL" power within government---WE THE PEOPLE.
While we are
on the subject of "the people" let's remember to think about the needs of our
military on a daily basis. We should indeed focus on them and not the rantings of a self-centered actor
that is a poor example for our youth. And to think when it comes to spending, this actor makes more in 30-minutes
than a platoon of heroes makes in a year.
Are we so busy with our self interests, that we can't take time to be informed and then get involved?
It's our country, it's our future, it's our now.
How long before we will have waited too long?

Sound Bites, Cameras, Ratings and Memorials Equal
Reality? Who Are We? Just maybe, we need to slow down and take our time. Look at how we
speed through life today. And by the way, don't tell me you have to do things this way, because
there isn't enough time in a day. Possibly we need to stop for a moment and take a look at what we have set as guidelines
for an example and standard of living.
Some of us have decided that we could depend on a TV reality program
to show how we can pick life partners in a few short weeks by taking approximately 300 people on a date, at
the same time, (okay, only 20 people at a time). Some of us have agreed that the way to better health is to bare all (literally
and physically) on a TV program that embarrasses us into losing weight in front of millions of viewers.
All in the name of reality TV. Oh and some money. Some of us think that the answer to
our personal problems and family issues are resolved by going on drug rehab programs and celebrity "psychologists" shows
and baring our souls, the most intimated details of our private lives and doing so in front of glaring cameras and an audience
of strangers. And these people, sit in a counseling session, in front of only a few million viewers. And this
is done for what? A few brief minutes of what? And those that watch this, do so because of what? Some of us
have decided that dealing through the regular legal system is no longer adequate, these people can't let
a court decide their fate anymore. Instead, the lure of standing before celebrity judges and TV lawyers
that will hear our cases (stupid, petty and childish) in front of those glaring cameras and a national audience.
People stand and proclaim how the car they stole, the credit cards they stole from a dear friend was an okay thing
to do because the friend once used their comb (or some other asinine made-for-TV drama). And the judge who listens
to screaming, swearing, cross talking and waits as the tantrums stop, then lays down the verdict, with humor, sarcastic
rhetoric and anything else that will cause a rise from the gallery. As if this is how courts conduct business.
Let's face it, it has to be this way or it wouldn't sell.
Recently, some of the media, mainly those that air their "news" on television, seemed
to be caught up in what the victims of Tucson are thinking and how they feel about the parents or the monster
that killed six and injured thirteen. And the push to be first with those interviews, to cover that story seems
to be, to some, a "need-to-get-it-first" project. Case in point--- Read More

Ignorance Fuels Blame It is absolutely egregious to realize that some have become so hypocritically biased that even their
finger pointing has stooped to an all-time low. The need to isolate themselves from contributions of wrong and
the need to stand aloof, yet with stained hands, in judgment has led to accusations of the most pathetic
level and a lack of ethical behavior in civility. In my opinion, the American people should be appalled over
this trend, fanned by some media, their 'poster idols' and those in positions of power that blatantly
manipulate the reporting of events, to lean towards their agendas, selfish gain and all in the name of informing
and doing the business of the people. Double standards and hypocracy have become much to familiar and accepted
as a way of life in too many circles.
Are we slowly or possibly more correctly, have we turned our backs
on "RIGHT", "TRUTH", "HONESTY", "INTEGRITY" AND "CHARACTER"? Are
we on a quick path to becoming an unruly and Godless society?
Some have stooped to pinning the deranged and
monstrous acts of seriously ill and demented individuals, no longer on background, parenting, mental illness or improper
environments, but instead, they blame a political party, the words spoken during campaigns or worse; a candidate.
Our election process, our governmental procedures, our elected officials and those that choose to campaign in an effort to
serve, for whatever reason, these are now, by insinuation, being hailed as the true villains that spark hideous acts
by the aforementioned demented individuals.
Surely this nation is in need of some true guidance back to virtue,
truth and responsibility. We cannot condone this attempt to impregnate, fester and breed more unscrupulous
individuals and their outlets to poison this land with manipulative and malicious lies. We cannot become a
nation that ignores the rule of law nor a nation that will sidestep the election process in order to supposedly calm the horrendous demons
that take lives in the name of some cause residing in the minds of the demented.
We must stand against spurious politicians, "me-first-scoop" medias
filled with misinformation and we must not take for fact the words relayed by a misinformed/uniformed general
public. We must always speak, act and exemplify a civil, truthful, informed and responsible
manner, lest we add to the ambiguity of concern over the inevitable question; "what's next".
The answer to "what's next" will be that we need only look within ourselves to see the enemy
that will destroy us--that enemy will be our indifference. We must do our part to educate.
The time has come for government to act (that's you and me). Be informed and get involved---your voice, your participation
and your vote will make the difference.

A Sigh Of Relief Nancy Pelosi has turned over the gavel and stepped down as Speaker
of the House. While many of us waited until the Health Care Reform Act was passed so we could know what was in it,
we didn't have to wait to know what to do today. Many Americans simply took a deep breath and breathed a sigh of
relief. True to form, when asked as to how she handled things and about things that seemed to be left undone,
such as the economy being fragile and the unemployment numbers being high, she replied that she has NO regrets. Is she oblivious
to the state of things that were perpetuated and fed by this past congress?
But, at the moment, it is a
time to BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF provided you still remember how, after holding your breath so long. They didn't
tax the air and they didn't trade it for loans with China---so the air is still free----for the moment anyway. Or is it?
Actually, I made a mistake saying she stepped down---It would be more appropriate to
say candidly: The American voters removed her.
Note: Join us on Jan. 8, for an indepth look at
her last day and about other Congressional representatives.

DREAM ACT I could
go on and on, giving statistics and detailing records from our history, but it really isn't necessary, we have principles
and we know the difference between right and wrong. We either stand and exist as a nation of laws or we don't.
This proposed act is no more than a ploy to soften us up for the next measure and the next, until amnesty is the rule
and our laws are null and void. And it is a sublte effort to further dependecy upon government programs.
We should not be misled by using the concept of "innocent" children to tug at our heart strings
so we can dilute the argument against this act. It is a bad act for a variety of reasons, but at the head of the list
is the undeniable fact that this is just another step to accepting the concept of amnesty and (according to the agendas
of some congressional members) an eventual effort to have open borders.
Are we to continually
be a nation that continues to weaken its position through compromise? Do we not profess to be a nation that exists
under the 'rule of law'? So often, we hear that we are such a nation---it is either lip
service or we must insist (of our elected officials) that they must follow the laws that they swear to
uphold. Is it any wonder, with such considerations and compromises, that our borders are continually
breeched? There are no consequences. And a nation that won't stand up for its principles, that instead
continues to compromise, is a nation lost.
This nation is made up of the most diversified citizenry of any
nation on earth and we can be proud of that. It is a testimony of our leniency and compassion. We are
an example that all people are created equal and can live together, in harmony. We also can be proud to stand up for
our nation---a nation that was formed, grew, prospered and gained strength, from its inception, because it is a nation under
the rule of law.

ENTITLEMENT vs. EQUALITY
(Security Measures---Unreasonable and Not for the Privileged) I keep being asked if I will join in (as
a participant) the airport protest this Thanksgiving week. Let me make this clear: No, not this one nor any coming up.
I am against most forms of demonstrations that are intended to be disruptive to the normal course of lawful business or gatherings,
whether they are organized or not. I do not feel that the demonstrations of the disgruntled (myself included) should cause
unhealthy apprehensions, discomfort, disruption or bring about a sense of trepidation in others. In this case, pushing the
agenda of those demonstrating upon those that are traveling is wrong. They (the demonstrators) and their agenda is no less
abusive and intrusive than that of those they target. The old adage is alive and well: "Two wrongs don't make
a right".
Now, as far as the recent security measures go, I totally
disagree with the misuse of power by the TSA. To begin with, security is not a crap shoot.
Security measures are extended across the board or they are defined to a specific target. With that
in mind, why is a congressman/congresswoman privileged enough to forego security measures including the x-ray or the pat down
when you or I, as Americans, have given no cause for alarm and having no background of threatening the safety and security
of other Americans or this nation, are not given equality of treatment? If an American, who happens to
be a congressional leader or some government official gets to show an ID and move on, then why can't you or I, also Americans,
be offered the same standard. Last I heard, I was part of the "all men are created equal" deal.
My mother and your mother as tax-paying, law-abiding women are subjected to a stranger's hands groping
over private areas of their bodies; but some tax-evading, lying and disingenuous congressional member or other government
employee simply gets a pass, not having to subject themselves to the same rigorous and abusive examination. And
the exemption is justified because of a sense of entitlement---really? Read More

TIME TO VOTE AND NOT A THING TO WEAR In light of the
recent brouhaha (or should I have said brew ha ha?) over T-shirts that have references to Tea Party Organizations, I thought
I would let you know where this could go and may have already gone. More and more cases, around the country,
are filed for emergency hearings over the weekend or on the Monday before the general election. Have
we lost our minds? Are those in some official capacity for this election so drunk on power that they need
to display their importance by heading up the CLOTHES "POLLITHE"? ("POLLITHE"---the newly self-ordained enforcement
arm to tend to the inane, hyper-superfluous and inconsequential concerns of busy bodies and thereby this arm allows
the REAL POLICE to tend to matters of greater concern to Americans that take the time to exercise the privilege of voting
and the duty of being a part of government according to the U.S. Constitution).
I am having lots trouble trying to find something to wear to my polling station.
It seems that I have to be rather stark appearing and can't wear anything suggestive towards a political party,
an American organization or association, a candidate, a former candidate, a former office holder, a noted
quotation of a political figure or a noted quotation of a supporter of a political figure or a noted quotation of a family
member of a political figure. And I can't wear anything that would suggest that I know anyone in politics,
running for political office and I certainly can't mention (they're watching and listening) that I like one candidate
over another or wish to see one proposition passed and possibly another fail. (Read More)

DO WE CARE ENOUGH
TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE? Doesn't anyone in politics
get it? Don't these people wanting to go into politics get it? Do any of the campaign honchos and the
fund raising gurus get it? Don't they understand they aren't any different than that which they degrade
and ridicule? Do they ever stop to read what they say, see how they act, understand what they project?
Unfortunately, what could be a great movement in America among individuals, has taken on the grab for power, notoriety,
vindictive nature, name calling and other less-than-kind characteristics of what we are all too aware of---POLITICS AS USUAL.
This constant attempt to make the "other side", whatever side that is, as all wrong and the side of
the one promoting, as being all correct is just that--POLITICS AS USUAL. The 'holier-than-thou' attitude
seems to go on and on. It is promoted by the campaign managers, the candidates and the party. And they that are
most guilty, can only point fingers and cast dispersions on the "other side", against the "opponent".
I am beginning to think that, being affiliated with any particular party is not the example I want to set for
the youth of this nation. We need to make some changes, this scenario of party against party has gone on way too long. Let's
deal with candidates and issues from the side of being informed and voting for the best representation that we know. Let's
stop letting which campaign has the most funds be the determining factor as to who represents us.
Hasn't
the drive for being wealthy and having the most money, cost us enough in recent times? This is OUR COUNTRY, and it doesn't
run well on a housing ruse, Bernie Madoff scams, over-budget spending or Wall Street bailout programs that cost billions of
dollars and is all charged to you and me---the American Taxpayer.
We, as Americans can make
a change---
To make a real change, we have to forget about selfish promotions and agendas and truly look to what
is in the best interest and welfare of America and ALL Americans. But, the change I want must begin with me. The change you
want to see in the world, must begin with you. Let's join together---it will take time, but we WILL make a difference.
ADD A BIT OF AGE-OLD WISDOM
I think that politicians and
those that campaign on their behalf could use a bit of advice that my dad used to give me. "If you can't say something
nice about someone, don't say anything at all". My dad was a truly smart man. Think how quiet it would be, what good
examples our youth would see and---for the coup de gras...we wouldn't have to hear
all those lying, half-truth and falsely insinuating commercials. : )

FORGET COMMITMENT; LOYALTY TOO---WHO'S NEXT?
Amazing
how disposable candidates are to the people that make a living in politics, those that are paid workers, supporting and touting
their candidate. It is amazing how quick transitions take place when their candidate of choice, looses
in an primary challenge. They just discard the one that lost and pick up another one that is still breathing.
Right up to the election, they tell you how detestable, how sleazy,
how wrong for the office, the opponents would be. And before you know it, they are wearing that person's
campaign button, carrying their signs and rallying a new team around their new 'candidate of choice. And,
right on cue, they pick up the chant again about this candidate's character, integrity and loyalty. Their words are as
hollow as the promises made by many of those running for office. Is it any wonder that so many Americans are disgusted with the political process---including the part
that starts in the local campaign office with the paid workers? Is this the lessons we want our youth
to learn about the American Political Process? Please tell me that this act of jumping ship isn't an
example we should be giving our youth? If we allow it, we condone it. If we condone
it, we support it. If we support it--- we deserve what we get. Would that be what
we want to leave our children? Educate yourself---you're paying for the lessons. Be
informed, then get involved. As for those of you that fit in the shoes of those I just wrote about----why not get
out of the way? Stop derailing what could be a truly awesome process of electing leaders
to represent us within our nation by, for and of the people's government. When I first made this public, here is a comment from a reader in New
York: "Very few statements on this or any other site that I've "liked" more. Bravo!"
(signed) b
As we celebrate Columbus Day (yes, it is
the 12th, but to have a 3-day weekend, we forego the real for convenience), take the time to DISCOVER how much America
means to each of us. When you and I realize the true sense of being a part of America, we will DISCOVER
that we do have the time to be responsible for the process that ensures our rights and freedom. If you and
I take the time, we will DISCOVER that we are part of the solution by being involved. But, if you or
I do nothing---we are not a part of the problem---we are the problem!
If you are as tired of the same old games, if you are
tired of politics as usual---then you need to say so by your vote. Don't leave it up to someone else. Be informed
and then get involved. Who better to be the change you want to see than yourself?

OH BOY, I JUST GOT
THE MEMO! I'm having rather conflicting feelings about how I feel versus how I should feel. I
was given the good news and I should be smiling and whistling a happy tune, but, due to the ongoing circumstances around me,
I just can't muster the pucker for a carefree whistle.
Unemployment continues to hold at staggering numbers,
people around me have used their savings, had their unemployment benefits run out, are now having to depend on food stamps
and many families have applied for mortgage modifications, only to be told that they don't qualify and now they are on
their last leg before the bank starts foreclosure procedures.
Then there those that have already lost their home,
are living in over-crowded shelters and willing to do any kind of work, for any hours and for the most minimum of pay, but
there aren't any jobs to be had, even at such low criteria.
And all the while, the banks say 'sorry' at
every turn. They learned their lesson with the mess they created and it won't be cleaned up for a long
time to come. So, the banks have decided to keep the money they got from the government, tighten the screws
on Americans and hold out until the government gives them more money, as an enticement to loosen the reins on lending. After
all, the banks have most of our money, they figure they might as well try to get it all. In the meantime,
neighborhoods are looking more like ghost towns as the foreclosures continue to mount faster and faster, surpassing any previous
time since records were kept. I could go on and on about this issue, but I am trying to connect with my
"got the memo" happier side.
As for small businesses, unlike those that are too big to fail and get TARP money, stimulus
funds and other considerations, there are bankruptcy auctions being held daily, on main streets all across
America. The Federal Reserve has issued some warning statement and though not foreseen at this moment,
there is the nagging threat of a double dip. A double dip, as in the economy; not ice cream.
And again, no one seems to be able to enjoy the good news. READ MORE

IS IT ABOUT THE FIRST AMENDMENT OR IS IT ABOUT MUCH MORE? Is it about a mosque/cultural center near the site known as 'ground zero'? Maybe
this isn't about the right to assemble, freedom of expression, right to worship, free speech or any
right that some would suggest is denied. Maybe it's more about shouting fire in a crowded theater.
Could this be about open wounds that haven't had time to heal, about sufferings that continue and about 300,000,000
people whose lives were altered forever by the events of 9/11/01? On that date, professing to follow the teachings of
their religion, individuals, in the name of their god Allah, invaded America and before the smoke cleared had killed
nearly 3,000 non-militant and innocent men, women and children. Today, followers of that same religious order
now want to erect a place of worship, including other venues, within the shadows of what once housed the offices,
shops and meeting grounds of thousands of workers and millions of visitors that, undoubtedly, practiced faithful
observances of every religion in the world.
Is this really about a religion that claims protection
under the First Amendment or is that argument simply to serve as the detraction for a more devious and hidden
sleight of hand? While some would argue that religious freedoms are the obvious issue here, in some cases, they
are not always at the core of what would seem to be a denial or denials of the right of religious worship or observance
of those tenets. I state the case of the Branch Davidians, not as a comparison, but as an example of a faith that
fell outside of the First Amendment.
I agree that we have a Constitution that must be upheld. And that we
do so without respect to person, race, color, creed, national origin, religion, sect, etc., but we are also bound by duty
to act within reasonable, respectful and moral parameters for the good and well being of all mankind. Is
this structure, the mosque, the issue? Is it really about religious right? Or, is this more than meets the
eye at this very moment? Is there a future consequence that is veiled beneath the over-active stand on
our First Amendment? Is this about manipulation and an "IN YOUR FACE" attempt to compromise our principles
based on the broad interpretation of laws---without exception? Is this an attempt to weaken from within? We now are well aware of the events, the deaths, the torn lives and even the subsequent
wars after 9/11, what would we have thought had someone suggested a few days earlier that such tragedies would happen?

Early Voting
Is Slow---HURRAH! According to past trends, at the rate early ballots
are coming in, things are slower than in recent years. And as far as I am concerned, I think that is a great
thing. The pessimists might say that it simply means less people will vote this primary (in Arizona) than in previous
years. I will take the high road and look at it with optimism and simply relish in the fact that people
are more concerned and are being responsible voters. I wrote a friend earlier today about this issue and here is my thought.
I am pleased to see people are taking their time, hopefully
that is the case. Optimistically, I think they don't have enough info and are waiting to know more. Hopefully, we have
learned from the last election...---we need to know who these candidates are and how strong they are on the issues.
Will they honor their promises, what does their character say about them? How do they present themselves, how do they act
and react to the campaigning? Are they examples that the young and old of this nation can respect and want to emulate
or are they just politicians willing to do and say anything to get elected? Too often, there are those that run to get
elected; not to serve the will of the people, but their own agendas and the agendas of those within the circle of influential
friends.
As many believe, I feel we are at a turning point in this nation---we either go the way of sensibility,
of responsibility, sound reasoning and judgment or we travel the road that takes us to a jobless,an indebted and unstable
nation with a gigantic bureaucracy that will replace our form of government. We need those in power that will be guided
by principles, integrity, strong character, ethics, honesty, a selfless attitude, decency and a sense of good for
ALL of AMERICA, today, tomorrow and the future. Let's not be cynical; these people exist. The blueprint of
this Republic was outlined by them, the country was led by them and America became the greatest nation
on earth. Remove those that don't measure up and bring in those that do.
Keep studying, challenge the
candidates and make up your own mind. When it is all said and done, endorsements make for headlines and campaign fund
raisers, but they don't do much once the election is over and it is time for that elected official to represent the people.
If you and I were informed and responsible voters, then we probably picked the right candidate and we win. If we
were lax in our efforts and simply relied on our neighbor, some political figure or a celebrity to tell us someone was good
for us, we might not be as happy. I can't remind myself enough: "We can't afford to make any
more mistakes".
Final thought: Have you ever wondered by so many politicans want you to hurry and send
in your early ballot? Part of the answer was disclosed in our July 31st program, in hour 2. Please visit the archives page and listen to the information given out on early voters. You're sure to be surprised--I certainly was.

Voting:
Will Haste Make for Further Waste?
Tomorrow, the early ballots will be mailed out in Arizona. Most Arizonans that signed up for early ballots
will receive them on Friday and Saturday. Some will see names they have never heard of and see positions to be filled
that they have no idea as to their function. It will be the first idea that some will have as to who is
running in their district, in their county and/or their state. These conditions are not exclusive of Arizonans.
The scenario plays out all across the country, before tomorrow, after tomorrow and for another three months, plus a few days.
The disturbing part is that some
of these, newly enlightened ballot holders, will vote without any semblance of knowledge. They will mark
their ballot based on familiarity, popularity, ethnicity, party affiliation and other mind-vacant methods. The responsibility
that should accompany every vote, will be dismissed with the signing of the ballot and sending it off. And
afterwards, they will proudly proclaim "I voted". And they will be correct, they voted, they weren't
informed, they didn't vote from a position of strength and knowledge, they just voted.
This scenario
will play out for next few weeks, over and over again. And the shocking part is yet to come. On
the final day to vote in the primary, while many will have waited, they will know no more than the slick
ads have told them. And it will then be, with this slate in the general election, that we will eventually
cast the votes that elect the representatives to guide us. What degree of responsibility will we have used in carving
out the fate of our county, our state and our nation? I will also
vote, but not with the convenience of an early ballot. I will continue to study. I will
be as informed as I can be and I will not vote until I have made the effort to understand each entry and the consequences
of my vote. I am an American! As a young man I served my country with my physical being and today I serve her by seeking wisdom
and defending my inalienable rights by casting a ballot of informed choices. It is the least I can do to show my
gratitude for those, in uniform, that continue to defend her today. And I will vote informed; as an expression
of my deep appreciation for the great gift of freedom. Be informed before you
vote. We can't afford to make any more mistakes.

| Rudi Says "IT'S TIME" |
SPECIAL ADDITION: See and Hear the Speech
"It's Time" (Securing our Borders) After numerous requests, we added the video to You Tube for
public consideration. The speech was given Town Hall Meeting on May 27, 2010. SB1070 had been signed by Governor Brewer
on April 23rd and President Obama had invited the president of Mexico, Felipe Calderon, to speak to Congress
on May 21st. Views and opinions abounded, many from people that had never read SB1070 and some
opinions, from foreign heads of state, suggested America needed to reconsider its stand on immigration. As if these
governments would open their borders or allow illegal immigration to prevail. The federal government questioned:
Is the bill legal? And what about our borders? Does Arizona have a right to protect its border? Should Americans
expect our state and federal government to secure our border? How long have we been talking about this and what is being
done? The town hall meeting was a huge success, there wasn't an empty seat in the house and standing room was non-existent.
Now hear the speech that continues to be talked about, the speech that was unanimously accepted and vigorously applauded. As a side note: Rudi came to America and became a citizen through the legal immigration
process. A special thank you to Dr. Chris Salvino for
sponsoring such an important event. Learn more about the campaign to elect Dr.Chris Salvino: www.drchrisforcongress.com

A
PROUD MOMENT IN AMERICA---FOR AMERICA---BY AMERICANS
31 years ago, my family had gathered at my parents home to watch
the moon landing. I vividly recall sitting on the edge of my parent's couch watching the slow and deliberate descent as
American technology put man on the moon. It was a 10+ on the goose bump scale and,
in this room, as in rooms all across America, respectful silence filled the air.
No one spoke during those last minutes of descent. And then,
the Eagle landed. A proud moment for America and its people.
I can recall the details as
though this happened only yesterday. Yet; it seems so very long ago since we have collectively felt such pride over a single
purpose of accomplishment as a nation.

MOST JOB SEARCHES DO NOT INCLUDE
BEGGING FOR MONEY AND SLINGING MUD
Political election
campaigns will soon be entering what is known as 'the political window'. Depending on the election day for the
primaries in a state, that time starts forty-five days before the primary election. So, in Arizona, where I reside,
that window starts July 10th.
If history is to repeat itself and there is no reason to
suspect it won't, then the fur will start to fly. If you live in Arizona and are reading this, you might be shaking
your head, rubbing your eyes and rereading this to make sure you read it right---the part I said about 'the fur
starting to fly'. You read it right and I wrote it with what should happen. But in Arizona, the smear
tactics have been going on for some time already. There are a couple of candidates (one incumbent and one former politician)
that have been bombarding the internet, print media and the air waves with an onslaught of charges that are
anything but in the conscience of good campaign strategies or examples of adult behavior that serve as role models for the
youth of this nation to follow.
While the 'he said---he said' comments seem to just become
more petty, the charges of improprieties, the falsehoods and the lack of commitment to party principles become more
egregious and severe. But, no matter the tasteless route these political foes have staked as their way of
winning over the voter, there is one thing they both have agreed upon. They plan to inundate us with their
lack of integrity, character and respect as long as you and I continue to send them our money. It still amazes me, the
arrogance in the process to political office.
The basic truth is that politicians campaign to
land a cushy job that affords them lots of off-time, benefits and perks that will leave them set for life after
only one term, no more than two and they do all of this on your and my dime. The country has a real unemployment
problem. People are laid off, people have stopped receiving benefits, people are on food stamps, people are losing
their homes and some have lost all hope. But, the politicians are asking you and me to pony up millions
upon millions of dollars for them to spend while they try to convince us (their prospective employer) that they are the best
choice for the job. And they do so with seemingly utter disregard for such admirable qualities such
as principle, honesty, ethics or integrity and fair play that most employers look for within a potential employee. Read More

Today,
on the air, I presented my twelve step program, a program that, I feel, every elected official should enter. I
received an unusual number of comments and requests to put them on the MSOL web site so people could access them with ease.
Therefore, I have done so. Keep in mind, I respect the efforts and the program of Alcoholic Anonymous. There are
many twelve step programs, but they all seem to take their guide from the original program, as outlined in the Alcoholics
Anonymous "Big Book". God, or as some prefer to say, higher power, is an integral part of the AA
program. When I wrote these steps it was not my intent, nor is it today, to suggest that God could be
replaced in the steps of AA. Nor would I suggest that we could possibly compare God with mere mortals.
I did not omit God from my steps because of irreverence, but instead, to make it an absolute point to be reverent. I
altered the steps and replaced words to also be respectful of the steps, traditions and complete program of
AA.
I tailored these steps as though any local, state or federal leader
were stating them as part of their own twelve step program for economic recovery. With that said, imagine those
that represent us, actually following these steps in all of their affairs and I believe you will agree they really
could work---provided our elected officials worked "a program of rigorous honesty".
TWELVE
STEPS TO RESPONSIBLE SPENDING AND BUDGET CONTROL
Step 1. We admitted
we were powerless over spending, that our budget had become unmanageable.
Step
2. Came to believe that a constituency greater than ourselves could bring us back to reality.
Step 3. Made a decision to turn our checkbooks over to the will of the people, by which we were elected.
Step 4. Made a truthful, transparent and complete list of our past and current personal
agendas.
Step 5. Admitted to the American people the exact nature of each payoff or
bribe we entertained or took.
Step 6. Were entirely ready to have the people remove
us through the process of elections or recalls.
Step 7. We asked our constituents for
another chance to show we could overcome the error of our selfish ways--without the need of raising taxes.
Step 8. Made a list of all budget items that jeopardized the people's welfare and safety and became willing
to eliminate them all.
Step 9. Made direct deposits to all budget areas from which
we stole to feed under-funded pet projects, except when those causes were eliminated due to our previous deceitful and selfish
ways.
Step 10. Continued to balance the budget and when we were near to being overdrawn,
promptly corrected it.
Step 11. Sought through listening to the people and through being
rigorously honest, to improve our contact with the people, asking only for clarity so that we could carry out the will of
those we represent.
Step 12. Having had an economical and fiscal awakening as the result
of these steps, we tried to carry the message of a balanced budget and to practice responsible and controlled spending in
all of our financial affairs.

(Yesterday, on the air, I closed with a plea for attentive driving.
I have received numerous emails asking that I post that segment of the show for everyone to read. With time to reflect
I have altered the original commentary ever so slightly. Its original form is available in the archives.
I hope it makes you think enough so that you will replace your bad driving habits with a new respect as to your obligation
when operating any vehicle or watercraft. You might notice that the commentary has no title.
The title is missing---so are people that sat around the dinner table last Sunday.)
To begin with, the entire staff of MSOL extends its deepest sympathies and sends its condolences to each of the individuals,
and their familes, that were involved in the fatal incident this past Thursday on Carefree Highway. The carnage riddled accident
involved a dump truck, four vehicles and a vulnerable group of nine riders on eight motorcycles. The mental image of
this tragedy, though chilling and gut wrenching, can in no way be as sanguinary as the actual scene.
The fatal accident has claimed four innocent lives and many others are still hospitalized, in critical or serious conditions,
suffering from an endless list of injuries.
The following shouldn't have to be written, spoken or even hinted,
yet some are so wrapt in their world of "it's all about me" that we not only have to say it, but some need it
drummed into their heads: PLEASE, WHEN YOU ARE BEHIND THE WHEEL, RESPECT THE OBLIGATION YOU HAVE, TO CONTROL YOUR VEHICLE
AND TO BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND YOU. Cell phones, navigation screens, DVD players, laptop computers and Ipods
hooked to ear phones all have their time and place--but, that time and place should not involve the operator of a moving vehicle.
If you need to make a call, feel the need to text, plot a route, check emails, put on or freshen your make up, comb
your hair, obstruct your hearing by doning headphones or check the internet---PULL OVER into a safe location. Put the
car in park, turn off the engine and talk, text, plot, read, reply, make yourself glamourous, *blast out your ear drums and
go prematurely deaf and chat on-line to your heart's content. (*Note to the sound blasters that feel everyone
likes what they are listening to---take that sound system to a remote location where only you can hear it.)
But, before you call someone, bluetooth or not, before you text someone, before you deliberately obstruct your hearing with
earphones, glance away at a DVD, enter an address on the navigation system, apply lipstick or check the internet WHILE DRIVING,
ask yourself this quick question. "Will my actions be justified
if I kill someone's child, a baby's parents, a grandparent or a child's loved pet--today?"
When will we learn---in particular--when will YOU learn that Thursday's fatality could have just as easily
been caused by you, could have just as easily included you, either as a driver or any of the victims. Lives have been
taken, families will suffer, futures have ended and courses have been altered-- FOREVER.

How Bad Is
It? State Law Presented as Substitute For Parental Control and Direction? Recently, the Arizona Senate proposed a bill that would prohibit writing, reading or sending text messages and
e-mails WHILE DRIVING on a state highway. The bill was defeated, revived for review and passed and is, at present, waiting
for a full senate vote.
I would think that the essence of the bill would get nothing but a nod of approval
by most of us, but I wonder if that would be true of the comments made by supporters of the bill. I can't believe
that we need this law to begin with, I mean how ignorant might we be to feel that such an activity while driving, is a sane
deterent to keeping our eyes on the road as we go 55, 65, 75 miles per hour down the long and winding road? Have things
gotten so bad on the homefront that we need this? And I am not talking about the homefront, in relationship to war,
but instead, I am talking about the homefront as in 'FAMILY AND HOME'.
How did I get to this place
from the bill? Let's look at the supporters' stated reasons for the need of such a bill. Read More

Mental Health
May Solve Political Problems
When I first read the headline in the Arizona Republic this morning, I thought
someone had found some answers to many of the questions that we are asking regarding solving the problems in our state and
national arenas.
What else was I supposed to think? Here is--exactly--what the headline screamed with
authority: Mental-health overhaul clears Senate committee. And, I thought; it should clear
more than just a committe of senators, shouldn't it? If it would clear a Senate committee then surely
it would move on. Read more

Even Mother Nature Has Heard Enough Snow Jobs
There is a snow storm happening in the mid-Atlantic
states, such as hasn't been seen since Congress started looking into the Teapot Dome scandal and the Lincoln
Memorial was dedicated in Washington, D.C.
I am not one to wish the hardships of winter upon anyone and I am not
one to take lightly the hardships that extreme weather storms, as this one, can weigh upon the ill-prepared, the elderly,
the young, the needy and the homeless. With that said, I can't resist focusing on a certain location
where those affected by this storm are anything but needy.
How ironic that, at the center of this storm,
is Washington, D.C. It is almost as though that relatively small area is the target. Could
it be that this administration and this Congress have upset more than just the people of this great nation?
Could it be that the arrogance and the deaf ears of those that are supposed to represent the people has gone too far?
And could it be that voters and nature are now working together to send a message to those that occupy the offices on Capitol
Hill? Read More

Clueless
in Washington "HOME"land Security----- We're not talking about here, there and everywhere.
We are talking about our country. From the Atlantic to the Pacific, from Canada to Mexico and a couple of states and
a few territories. Yes, it seems a large area to cover, but relation to the North American Continent or Asia or some
other great mass, it is smaller than you might realize.
And, while complex, Homeland Security must have
some basic rules and guidelines that it just has to follow. I would think that one of them might
be the adherence to communications regarding potential critical information shared between the CIA, the FBI, the Secret Service
and Homeland Security. After all, didn't we decide that might have helped us to be on alert prior to the 9-11 attacks?
I don't understand why we are falling for the seemingly stunned attitude in Washington
over the latest breach of security, regarding the near catastrophic event on Christmas Day. Doesn't it make sense
to think that on one of the most recognized holidays, a day of Christian significance, that someone of the Muslim radical
community might think this would be a good day for killing Americans?
Doesn't
it make sense that on such a day, that with information, from the father of a Muslim Radical, that Homeland Security and the
TSA might be on the lookout for this person. His father said he might be traveling by air and he sensed his son was
just not right----and WE EVEN KNEW HIS NAME, yet we did nothing. And why? We definitely know why. Read More

Maybe Tiger Should Have Held Onto a Wood and Stayed Out of the Woods
It's the same old story,
no matter how many times it is told and no matter who's name you use when telling it. Whether it's a politician,
athlete, entertainer, business person or some other public figure, when they get caught with their hands in the cookie jar
or their hands on the cookie, they deny and they deny and they deny. (Deny is the mild form of lie that just has a softer ring
to it).
When the denial becomes rather thin, they then say they are sorry and typically, they give some excuse as
to why. Eventually, no matter the clever and deceptive prowess, the truth comes out and they ask for forgiveness and
ask us to mind our own business and go back to paying them, buying tickets or supporting them for whatever it is that they
do to earn lavish life styles at the expense of adoring fans and supporters.
Just a quick observation:
In
all fairness, they are a lot like you and me in one sense, we are pretty good at the denial bit ourselves when confronted
with the same situation and circumstances. But, that is about as far as I would go with the comparison.

Pushers in Washington and Users on Main Street
Washington continues
to amaze even the most skeptical with their spending programs. Its as though they use them as a
pusher uses drugs. They promise a feel-good result and though these drugs are questionable, they are seemingly
legal. Washington has figured out a way to get Main Street high, and they have done it in such a slick
way that neither the pushers nor the users have to look over their shoulder as to who might be watching the selling and use
of these drugs. Main Street principles and hard work seem to have been stepped over in search for another
quick fix--another program that increases the size of a government that just continues to spend and spend. What about the consequences? Of course there will be the occasional court cases,
but not the type that require a public defender, instead, more like the kind that requires a business attorney to account
for the money that was used to buy a quick fix or a good bankruptcy attorney to wash away the debt and bring relief from the
troubled assets (remember T.A.R.P?).

Don't Bring a Stick to a Gun Fight
Have we become numb or indifferent? Have we forgotten our commitment or have we simply found distractions
that have become more important to many of us because we, or our families, are directly affected? We
are engaged in a war and the death toll, civilians included, continues to mount, not so much from conventional weapons, but
more so from suicide bomb incidents. Great numbers are killed in single incidents where vehicles, heavily
loaded with explosive devices, are driven into populous areas with unsuspecting workers, shoppers and visitors.
And let's not forget to add to these numbers the devastation from I.E.Ds planted in the roads, along the roadsides,
in walking lanes and anywhere else the extremists feel they can take enough innocent and/or unsuspecting lives without being
detected. And, how can we overlook the lives taken by those that have explosives strapped to their bodies that they detonate
once they are within the deadly proximity of those that these radicals have been sent to kill.
We continue to add
to the rising count of American military service personnel, both men and women. These numbers are made up of the brave
souls that volunteered to enlist, to defend, to stand for freedom and to oppose oppression, tyranny and a multitude of other
inhumanities.

POINT MADE FOR MANDATORY HEALTH CARE COVERAGE
Before I present my
case for MANDATORY health care coverage, let me make one thing clear about the outburst during the President’s speech
last evening. The comment was uncalled for and showed a lack of restraint. It
certainly warranted an apology, personal and without exception. Whether it was directed at the President
of the United States or any other person, the accusation has no place in the public arena of politics or, for that matter,
anywhere else. Crude, rude and uncivil behavior contributes nothing to the welfare of this nation and it
sets the wrong example for our youth. That being said…………… The President’s speech certainly sparked a litany of comments after his address
on Health Care. Not so much of what he said, but what was said from the floor. Congressman
Joe Wilson of South Carolina, with his ‘spontaneous’ outburst emphasized the real need for a modern and extremely
comprehensive health plan; specifically designed to cover the ails that seem to plague many in Washington, D.C. But, I would offer we need MANDATORY health
care coverage for a nation with an increasing number of sick people. People that have a tendency to speak
before thinking, people that can’t control their mouth and people that seem to have a screw missing or at least loose
enough to cause some serious damage. We have much too much disrespect of others and the trend of name calling and accusatory language seems to have taken
a prominent position in Washington. It goes beyond having a foot in the door; this is quickly becoming
an epidemic. Pelosi and her 'unpatriotic' comment, Charlie Rangel and his 'you are too stupid'
comment when asked about his ½ million dollar omission on his tax return and Harry Reid with his
'you can smell them' comment over tourists in Washington. Then add the ‘dignity’ comment
from the Texas Congresswoman and the ‘no matter what my constituents think, I will vote what I think is right’
comment from another congressman. I think a team of doctors and scientists could easily get a grant and start working on finding a cure for ‘mouth
before thought’, more commonly known in medical circles as MBT (any real medical condition is referred to by letters
only). They should set their offices and laboratories in the wings of Congress and the Senate.
As to costs, much will be saved when it comes to purchasing specimens. They won’t need to
stock up on mice, not with so many rats available. While we are without an antidote to eradiate MBT; as long as this condition threatens our
systems, we would be wise to make this coverage mandatory for every person in Washington. And, as
needed, we could extend that coverage to others. And by the way, we certainly would strike out the pre-existing
condition clause of any policy regarding this malady. Then again: Maybe we could all just take a deep breath and engage our brains before we open our
mouths? Who knows, if we think first, we might even find the cure for obesity---since we wouldn’t
have to eat so much crow or humble pie. And that includes me with the rat comment (I couldn’t resist).

FLASH: DASH FOR CASH IS SUBJECT TO CRASH
Just one thing before I start. I didn’t just jump on this band wagon; I have been
voicing my concerns over this industry, bailouts and programs since late last year. So, as you can see,
this Administration, this Congress and this Senate listens to me just as much as it listens to you. My view of this oversight
comes in the last paragraph of this article.
'Cash for clunkers' has dealers on edge and hesitant to make any more deals.
The industry has an underlying hum and it isn’t coming from a fuel efficient engine. The program is on hold and
that move is initiated by the same industry it is supposed to help. Why? The program
may have run its course and there may not be any money for subsequent deals. There are many speculations
and even some calculations, but no one, not one person, not one agency can give anything that might resemble real facts.
And so we scratch our heads and ask: How can this be, how can this be happening again? Unfortunately, once again, this administration
has come up with yet another program to spend tax payer money, without a viable method to control the spending.
It seems as though we have been stuck on this crooked path since this ‘hurry up, give me the money’ started
last September. Remember when Henry Paulson said that the financial markets needed a 700 Billion dollar
bail out (T.A.R.P)? That program continues to be questionable and much of the money is still unaccounted
for or not being disclosed as to its use. And since that fiasco, it seems that every ensuing program just
mirrors the unbridled spending and waste. You would think that once would be enough and someone would get
the clue to ride a different pony. Let me clear your mind as you continue to read. When it is all said and
done, the ‘cash for clunkers’ program will have cost more than Congress figured, will uncover some real nightmares
to deal with, somewhere, the end result of these transactions (the recycle bin) will crush parts of the industry to the point
of needing a bailout and we will be put in the position of having to pony up once more. Stay tuned.
Surprised? I bet you are thinking I could have left this paragraph to your imagination, right?! Some
auto dealers are as good as out of business. Why?
